Arrived at the Onsen. I am SO looking forward to spending time with my students and faculty members, as well as hanging around the springs and getting some sun. I hope everyone else is just as excited, because I know I am! <3

Aside from relaxation and taking care of the students and stuff on this trip, I have to remember to do some things for myself as well. So I might as well make a list.

1. Pick up gift for Mom.

2. Send Post card to Grandma

3. In Post Card to Grandma, ask her to send something on getting rid of a person you don't like with her next care package aka order voodoo dolls for the rest of the faculty member sans Itou

4. Pick up souvinier sunglasses for my collection.

5. Call Mugen and see if he's doing alright with taking care of Taro-chan and all that (I worry that lazy guy is going to let him starve)

I will hit on a certian straight male coworker.

I will NOT hit on a certian straight male coworker.

I will NOT hit on a certian straight male coworker.

I will NOT hit on a certian straight male coworker.

I will NOT hit on a certian straight male coworker.

I will NOT hit on a certian straight male coworker.

Perhaps I should consider hooking up with someone here, just to get this off my mind. He's straight and has a girlfriend. Not only that, as attracted as I am, I still work with him. That can be a bad thing. I just need to move on.

But still, I have to be around the students, so that idea is out the window. I WILL NOT ABANDON MY POST OF PROTECTING AND WATCHING MY STUDENTS FOR I AM GREAT TEACHER SAKAMOTO RYOUMA!

Hmm..what to do? Maybe I should talk to Oki about this?

I think I am going to go for a dip in the men's only spring and clear my mind. Hn, anyone want to join me?

Received a "housewarmin' gift" from Grans today. Inside was a jello-mold with pickles in it. How she managed to send it without the mold melting, is beyond me, but I doubt its safe to eat.

Inside was also the usual note. She's been...concerned about my lack of a girlfriend and the fact that I am the only grandchild who hasn't given her a great grandchild yet. She says that she read somewhere that pickles are....<strike> well, enhance fertility.</strike>

Trust me, Grans, <strike>I am NOT infertile!</strike> my lack of a partner is not a problem. There are many reasons I'm single, one being I just got out of college and am dealing with my first job as a teacher. I have a LOT of time to have kids if I want to. Kids are great but I wish you would STOP pressuring me. You already have 15 great grandchildren. Why do you immediately need more.

Jello-mold being used as a door stop for the moment in my office. She also sent the usual voodoo dolls <strike> why are they all love charms?</strike>

Saitou-kun, would you like to take a look at the note? My Grans has always been a bit mad, but she's really getting worse lately. Maybe you can help me think of someway to help her?

OH shit! Something black just crawled out of the box and scurried out of my office. I better go catch it before it gets loose in the school!

    <lj:music>Yellow Submarine (The Beatles)</lj:music>

Decided to redo my class room the other night, due to the massive amount of ...questionable stains everywhere. I sure hope everyone finds the new environment more comfortable! ^_^

The seats are rearranged in an amphitheater style, because I find straight rows dull and stuffy. Also, I think it'll encourage the students to interact more and pay better attention to the class. If I had my way, I'd replace the desks with beanbags, but seeing how that clearly is not in the school budget, I brought down two I had spare, since they couldn't fit all four of mine in my dinky office.

Carpet- abyssmal. I really REALLY don't want to know how these stains got here. SO I Just brought in a few rugs and threw them down. They are some old ones my grandma made, so please, don't let the imagery on them frighten you. I love my grandma, but I admit, the average person would find her designs a bit disturbing. I finally managed to get the smell of cats out of them by multiple washings and incense, so atleast that is gone. These will have to do until I can afford better ones.

Anyways- my class really doesn't have much of a syllabus like Saitou-kun's does. Attendence is important, but not life threatening if you miss a few days. There will be assigned work given out on a sheet at the beginning of each month with what you should read the night before, what in class assignments will be expected each day, as well as when assignments are due, tests will be given, and essays collected. So, atleast, DON'T MISS THE FIRST MONDAY OF EACH MONTH! Or you will be royally S-C-R-E-W-E-D. There will be a total of three essays each semester, four exams, some vocabulary quizzes, as well as of coarse the mid-term and the final exam. And yes- it is accumulative, SOWWIE!

Participation, is a must, I must say. I consider learning to be an interactive activity so the readings we do in class will be outloud.

But don't worry- there is extra credit. You may do a blurb on a poem you have read and submit it for 10 pts. extra credit. Student poetry and stories will be rewarded with 15-20 points each, but can be adjusted accordingly for length. Doing a poetry reading or a monologue infront of the class will also be rewarded with extra credit- 20, and 50, accordingly. The limit for how many extra credit points one may recieve is 125. Reviews for plays you have seen are also 50 extra points. Also, if you have any other idea for extra credit not stated, you may propose it to me and I will see if it is deemed acceptable and let you know how many points will be rewarded.

I may seem pretty loose, but that doesn't mean I will let you guys get away with murder. Anything deemed irrappropriate will be rewarded with detention, special detention. You don't want to know what that is. Trust me.

Things that won't be tolerated in class above all are cheating, bullying, or any other behavior that is regarded as inappropriate or offensive to myself or another student.

Also, try not to miss TOO much class. You know the school's attendence policy.

You have been warned.

WAHOOO! It's officially the start of term and my days as a teacher! I can't wait to see all the new faces and the students! <3

I'm really not to worried about the students or teaching and all. I had a lot of fun when I was working as a student teacher, so I know it'll be a LOT OF FUN! :D

I've already been introduced to most of my collegues when I was settling in, but I don't know them too well yet. They seem like a BERI INTERESTING BUNCH! <strike> All except for that Itou guy. He seems a bit creepy for some strange reason, but I don't know him yet so I should give him the benefit of the doubt for the moment. </strike> Some of them seem a bit anti-social, but my behavior is known to be a bit rambuncious, I suppose. I have yet to meet a few of the staff members, but I'll track them all down eventually. I heard the psych teacher is an INTERIORESTING GAI.

Anyways, I should introduce myself since most people in this school haven't met me yet, being new here. I am SAKAMOTO RYOUMA, Half American, Half NIHONJIN, and the new English teacher for Kyurri High. Like I said, this is my first year teaching and I am very happy to be here, <strike>even though I have heard some suspicious rumors regarding the resignation of the last English teacher.</strike> I am also going to be the staff sponser for Drama Club, as I was a dual English and Drama major in college, and I hope that some of you will sign up to join.

See you all in class. :D

I am SO HAPPI to be here!

Well, I went to check the mail today and found an ALMOST innocent looking package in my box, except for the fact that it was covered with enough postage to send it to the center of the earth and back and about a pound of cat fur.

I knew at once that SOMEONE had given my American grandma my mailing address. I'm guessing mom, since Dad knows better, being raised by her. Grans is sweet, she's just...off. But no one is better to contact if you want a voodoo curse put on somebody or to put a rattlesnake in someones bed. But it's not a good idea to give her your address or you get stuff like this in the mail.

[Translated from English so Hajime and my other non-native speakers can understand]

Norbert,

You never call and you never write! I hope you have been feeding pussy well at your new job! (grandma doesn’t get I’m gay) If you don’t have a girlfriend yet, I’m going to shave my pig. Anyways, I don’t know if they make condoms your size in that country, so I sent you a few, in case. Don’t want you getting the clamp. You are remembering to keep mothballs in your sock drawer right?

Learned your cousin Ryouma is a fairy. Honestly, I hope it’s a phase. (Okay, so maybe she does, but she still thinks I’m my other cousin, Norbert). No one else is certainly a queer in this family. Maybe he'll change his mind when he meets a nice girl, like this grandfather did. Got him out of those dresses, I did.

We’re all fine over here. I sent you the recipe of your grandfather’s you suggested. He misses you terribly and wants you to come visit and go camping again (Grandpas been dead for almost ten years now). But he is glad that you are teaching those skinny Japanese children to eat right – you are getting enough to eat?- and to survive in the wilderness. Poor children need meet on their bones, no doubt. Damn younguns these days don’t even know how to skin roadkill, get water from a cactus, or scalp the natives. ( *coughs* no comment)

Speaking of roadkill, Billy (one of the 50 cats she lives with, I think) got ran over the other day though. We had a little funeral for him, me and Gramps, and then I made a nice hat. I sent it along for you to give to one of your lady friends. I would be sad, but Billy Jean gave birth to kittens last month, so I am coping.

We miss our little Norby-snookums very much and we hopes that he has finally gotten over his bed wetting problem. I remember fondly when you were sixteen and you kept saying it was a bladder infection. You were so cute! (Honestly, that was Norbert, I swear.)

We hopes to come visit hims and see how he is doing soon.

Much Love,

Grans

PS. AND YOU BETTER HAVE A GIRL BY THEN!

[Endclose]

Inside was not only the recipe and the...hat, but a tarantcula in a glass jar (how that survived the journey, I dunno), a hairball, and voodoo doll <strike>I have named Itou and who I am considering loaning to Hajime for his therapy sessions or anyone who is interested</strike>. I need to find a new home for Bill (in honor of Grans' cat), the tarantcula because, not only was he illegeally sent to me, but I made the mistake of putting his jar next to Taro-chan's cage and the two seem to having some battle for supremacy. Taro-chan, has finally regrown some of the hair he lost when he was recovering from Tokio.

Anyways, anyone wanna a spider? He needs a good home. <strike> And, no, you can't use him for pranks, Trio. If anyone is releasing him into anyone's office, It's me!</strike>

By the way, when Grans says she HOPES to be visiting, she WILL be visiting. I just wish I knew when. <strike>Shit</strike> I just hope she just doesn't show up on my doorstep outta the blue like last time.

I am blaming it on anxiety and hopefully it'll not happen again.

Anyways- anyone who writes an essay on why it is not propper to use such a speech structure in everyday English will recieve extracredit (anyone being my cute students that is).

Thankfully, I am much better now. <3

Luckily, my computer hadn't been damaged and most of my favorite ones I keep in my car. But the perpatrator had taken the juice from the mini fridge and poured it all over my desk. The papers are drying so it might be a while before I get the results of the vocab quiz back to the students.

My mailbox was also full of messages of "Surrender Sai-snookums" scribbled on the back of polaroids of me walking about town and more of my hamster, Taro-chan.

Whom-ever you are *cough*TOKIO*cough*, I know you are angry, but you need to move on. My "BURESSUEDO" paint gun works very well against him, now that I have tried it out.

I was lucky that I didn't eat as many as Saitou-kun. I only have a minor headache that was easy enough to solve.

I'm sorry about your hangover, Saitou-kun. I really messed up on the alchohol content in the brownies. I suggest trying a prairie dog to make it better. Next time, I'll just bring you chocholate chip ones.

Also, to avoid Serizawa, next time we have a get together, maybe we should try my place? It's small <strike>and a little messy</strike>, but I guess I could tidy it UPU. And you can meet my hamster.

Sano-kun, for the fight against Serizawa, I suggest water balloons. Lots and lots of waterballoons. That way Hijikata-kun won't kill us for damaging school property with our warfare. <strike>Although He probably won't mind if it's against Serizawa.</strike>

<strike>Concerned over having briefly spoken to Itou only once.
The play took a very interesting turn, but Claudius and Polonius were not supposed to make Laertes want to kill them. I do wonder if Claudius still has the guts to try and make Laertes wear a Victorian Dress. (Sano-kun, what is with the fascination with dresses anyways? Does it have something to do with this maid of yours?)

Play was called off due to King Hamlet's Ghost being...er..too distracting and the students taking too much of an interest in that. Nothing happened! O_O

Must try not to jepordize the school should the inspection council swing by this week.

I think that it'll be easier to make the students realize the full beauty of that which is the Bard's greatest work by having them watch the 1996 movie with Kenneth Branagh. So that is what we will be doing tomarrow. And please, no sleeping in class. This is the best version on film of it up to date.

<strike> If that doesn't work, I am resulting to sock puppets. </strike>

I wonder what happened to our Ophelia.

I noticed that certain colleagues of mine have made journals to keep up with the students. Thought I should get in on the trend. BE-RI HIPPU! ;)

I can assure everyone that although some may find this literature, it’s not ending up on the reading list as long as I am on the faculty.

This year’s freshmen class is SO CUTE! Especially IRON BOI and his GURU-FRIENDO! Is it true they are going out?!

I hope everyone remembers their copy of Hamlet tomorrow. I am busy selecting <strike>victims</strike> ACTORS! YES! Actors to read for tomorrow- but, who to pick! Any volunteers? :D
Any ideas, SAITOU-KUN?! I think it would do some of the boys good to get in touch with their feminine side so I am thinking of switching up the roles for a week. So, “the rub” is who should be Ophelia?

CAT BOI would be good (being he already feels he is loosing it- he might make a better Hamlet though. Him and his <strike>angst-ridden flea bags</strike> cats have the angst department down), but can he stand the pressure to take on the IMMORTAL BARD’s work!? But, he’s too obvious. I’d cast DRAGON BOI, who desperately needs to work on his self confidence and public speaking skills. Perhaps acting would help bring him out of his shell, but I wonder if he could even stammer out lines such as “He took me by the wrist and held me hard.” Unfortunately, I feel the innuendo lines are all the students care to listen too.

Hopefully, I can make this class more entertaining then the previous teacher. LET US ROCK AND ROLL!

Everyone will have to participate (ACT!), as is in my syllabus, except for a few exceptions (Don’t worry Saya-chan, you are exempt ^_^). It is TENU PERCENTO of your grade, after all. So expect for what ever bit parts I don’t cast people for, I want to see some HANDSU UPU! I will pick the main parts, to make it diplomatic, and change parts every couple of days, so you will all get your chance with the major players. But remember, there are no small parts! Just small actors (No Offense, Puppy-kun!)

Note to self- Fresh out of bubble gum. Need more.

(ooc: Yeah, just posted my test entry because it amuses me so! ^_^)
